After a sold-out beginner lesson, the Mahj Squad is returning to help our newbies and almost-newbies build on what they know, sharpen their skills, and get more comfortable at the table. Whether you’re just learning the basics or still figuring out what all those tiles are doing, you’ll have plenty of help and plenty of chances to play.
Bring your curiosity, your competitive spirit, and your questions for an afternoon of merriment and mahjong at our new meetup spot in Mayfair in East Denver. We'll have tables set up in the new El Pinon Cafe and Cocktail Bar, which is tucked into the newly revamped La Vista Motel. Discover a place where vintage aesthetics and contemporary comfort create the perfect setting for mastering mahjong with new friends!

No need to bring your 2026 board or mahjong supplies, as the Mahj Squad provides all the materials! Feel free to bring snacks and nibbles. El Pinon requests you purchase one drink, be it coffee or tea or a mocktail or cocktail.
Before you Arrive
Free parking is available next to the El Pinon. To avoid any Colfax construction, take 14th Street East to Hudson Street, and turn north (left). The El Pinon and La Vista Motel are at the end of the block.
