Mindful Looking at The DAM 9/15/26

Mindful Looking invites you to slow down and spend time with a single work of art. Discover overlooked details, pose questions, and explore ideas as we linger, look, and connect with art and each other.

Giuseppe Arcimboldo was an Italian painter best known for creating imaginative portrait heads made entirely of such objects as fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish, and books - that is, he painted representations of these objects on the canvas arranged in such a way that the whole collection of objects formed a recognisable likeness of the portrait subject. Mark the changing of seasons with a long look at Giuseppe Arcimboldo's whimsical paintings, Summer and Autumn.
