2nd Summit Bike Ride
Hosted by 2nd Summit, this 30+ mile social ride departs from REI Denver Flagship at a steady 14 to 17 mph pace. This is a social ride, not a race, focused on community, connection, and enjoying the ride together.
We’ll meet at the REI Denver Flagship (right next to the bridge that goes over the Platte River) before rolling out together for approximately 30+ miles at a 14–17 mph average pace. While we’ll keep the group moving, this is a social ride, not a race. We’ll regroup as needed and enjoy the ride together. We will limit this to around 10 so we don't crowd the trails. We can decide the direction when we meet.

What a friendly, welcoming group of people! And I appreciated that David, the founder, was there to tell us about 2nd Summit and future plans.
As always fun to gather with other like-minded people. One idea, a friend had a business years ago called graffitees (was since sold) and it was basically stick-on bumper stickers with cool sayings to go on the back of shoes and it made me think it’d be cool to have a permanent stick-on or clip on name tag with “2nd Summit” and room to add your name for those who attend various events, could keep them and others get at the time, could attach to the helmet or wherever so the people remember each other like the names on backroads bike bags. That would certainly be useful for me because while it’s difficult to engage with people cycling together on busy narrow trails, easy to forget names, who they are especially in helmets and all. FYI. = Both name tag for the people attending and visibility for 2nd summit, name recognition. Hal
This was an awesome experience for me! The bike ride was beautiful, the weather was perfect and the people were interesting. I am new to Denver so this was a great social outing for me. I am looking forward to doing this again!
That was a great ride! Although we didn’t know each other, everyone in the group was welcoming and we all had a great time. I would definitely join this ride again!
Fun group. Easy ride, liked that we stayed together and had a smoothie together.
It was a great ride with great people! Great fun! A great opportunity to get out and do a ride that I might not otherwise do.
My only feedback-
Maybe at the start of the next ride, advise people to be careful about riding double (next to each other) on the bike path.
There was a couple in front of me riding double & oncoming traffic had difficulty getting around. One guy oncoming almost ran into me (not his fault) and he had quite a few expletives for the guy in our group who riding alongside another rider in our group.
