Gift of Jazz presents another Blind Tiger Jazz Concert, a special evening celebrating two of the most influential voices in jazz history: Miles Davis and John Coltrane. Born just months apart in 1926, this year marks the 100th birthdays of both legends.

Trumpeter Greg Gisbert has assembled a multigenerational ensemble of outstanding musicians to explore the groundbreaking music the two legends created together during Coltrane's tenure in Davis's iconic quintets of the 1950s. When Miles Davis and John Coltrane joined forces, they reshaped the course of modern jazz. From the hard-swinging recordings of the First Great Quintet to the modal innovations that culminated in Kind of Blue, their partnership produced some of the most enduring music ever recorded. Though each would later forge his own revolutionary path, their years together captured a rare moment when two visionary artists pushed one another to new creative heights.
