Chase the Moon at Roxborough Park
Take a hike under the moon and support a good cause!
As a calm summer evening settles over Roxborough, the park comes alive in a unique way as the moon rises and casts its gentle glow across the landscape. Even if you've wandered Roxborough's trails during the day, you'll be amazed at how the park transforms under the light of the rising full moon, revealing wonders you've never seen before.
The cool night air awakens a whole different side to Roxborough State Park. Begin your adventure at the Visitor Center, then hike alongside the majestic sleeping giant red rocks as the group explores the Fountain Valley Trail, discovering Roxborough's nocturnal magic.
The Friends of Roxborough State Park are sponsoring the evening hike series once again for 2026. These monthly hikes throughout Summer and early Fall pair participants with knowledgeable volunteer guides who explore the secrets and natural beauty of Roxborough as the night unfolds.
