DIVA: The Sound of Style

Tuesday, November 17th at 3 pm – 4:30 pm

Denver is the exclusive U.S. venue for this exhibit celebrating the radical power, creativity, and cultural impact of nearly 100 iconic performers,

On November 17, the Denver Art Museum’s DIVA exhibition inspires a special edition of Behind the Baton LIVE, presented in partnership with CPR Classical. Conductor Scott O’Neil and Denver Art Museum Interpretive Specialist Holly Harmon will guide you through the sound and style of divas past and present.

Using live keyboard performance, musical demonstrations, visual images, and relaxed conversation, Scott and Holly will explore how “diva” shifted from a label for extraordinary singers to a symbol of independence, reinvention, and defiance. From opera greats such as Maria Callas to today’s icons, they’ll connect the music to broader stories of breaking free, identity, and cultural change.

This 90-minute experience includes an audience Q&A. Performances take place at the Denver Art Museum at 3 pm and 6:30 pm.
