Could you be the ambassador for dog walking groups?
An ambassador is the friendly face at the door: there a quarter of an hour early, greeting people by name where they can, making sure nobody stands on their own. It's low-key, and ambassadors get perks along the way, including a discount on Plus membership.
I’d like to hear moreRaising a hand doesn’t commit you to anything — someone from the team will talk it through with you first.
Pets have a way of opening doors — to conversations, new routines, and friendships you didn’t know you were missing. For many of us in a next chapter of life, they’re our most loyal companions and a natural bridge to meeting others.
2nd Summit is curating pet- and animal-focused gatherings in the Denver Metro area that feel easy, friendly, and low-pressure — from casual dog walks to thoughtful animal rescue events. Whether you’re deeply devoted to your dog or simply curious about spending more time around animals, you’ll find welcoming ways to connect.
We’re building this category with care, focusing on simple, well-designed experiences where the shared love of animals makes conversation come easily.
Relaxed meetups at local dog parks for people who enjoy chatting while their dogs play nearby.
Gentle group walks for people and their dogs who prefer steady movement and easy conversation over speed.
Laid-back trail outings for people who want light adventure with their pets and a social, unhurried pace.
Thoughtful visits, volunteer days, or talks with local rescues for people who care about animal welfare and community.
Supportive sessions focused on everyday skills for people who want a better bond and calmer routines with their dogs.
Small-group riding and barn meetups for people who enjoy time with horses, from returning riders to curious newcomers.
It’s often easier to talk when you already share something in common. Animals make that first connection almost effortless — a question about a dog’s name, a shared story about a quirky habit, a laugh at something that happens on the trail.
For people in a next chapter of life, these small exchanges can grow into familiar faces and genuine friendships. Pet and animal gatherings offer connection without the pressure of traditional “networking” or small talk for its own sake.
Going out to meet new people can feel like a big step, especially if your routines have recently changed. Animal-focused events give you a reason to be there beyond socializing — you’re tending to your dog, learning something new, or simply enjoying time with animals.
That shared focus takes the spotlight off you and puts it on the experience. It’s a comfortable way to re-engage socially, one walk, visit, or class at a time.
Many people find that their days look different in this stage of life — more open space, fewer fixed obligations. Regular pet- and animal-based meetups can offer a gentle rhythm: a weekly walk, a monthly rescue event, a seasonal trail ride.
These touchpoints create structure without feeling rigid. Over time, they become anchors in your week that you and your animals can look forward to.
Spending time with animals often invites curiosity — about behavior, training, care, and the human–animal bond itself. Exploring these topics can be mentally engaging without feeling academic.
From basic dog training concepts to understanding how rescues operate, animal-centered experiences keep your mind active while giving you practical skills you can use every day with the animals in your life.

Something you love that you'd like to share with people — a walk you know, a table you'd set, a thing you'd teach. Tell us and we'll talk it through.
Not necessarily. Some gatherings, like dog park socials or walking groups, are designed for people with dogs. Others, such as certain rescue events or equestrian meetups, can welcome people who simply enjoy being around animals. Each 2nd Summit listing will clearly share whether a personal pet is required or optional.
Most pet and animal events are designed with a relaxed, social pace in mind. Dog walks and pet-friendly hikes focus on steady movement and conversation rather than distance or speed. For anything more active, like trail rides or longer hikes, we’ll describe the terrain, typical duration, and any basic abilities that help you decide if it fits your comfort level.
Yes — many people in the 2nd Summit community arrive solo, with or without a pet. The shared focus on animals makes it easy to start talking without forcing conversation. Hosts and partners are intentional about making newcomers feel welcome, whether it’s your first event or you’re returning after a while.
For dog-focused events, you’ll typically want a standard leash, waste bags, water for you and your dog, and any essentials your pet needs to feel comfortable. For equestrian or rescue-related activities, descriptions will note suggested clothing, shoes, and gear. We aim for simple, realistic packing lists so it’s easy to show up prepared without buying special equipment.
Some gatherings may be free, while others could involve fees for instruction, facility use, or support of partner organizations. When we add specific Denver Metro events, each listing will include clear pricing and what’s covered — such as guides, training time, or donations. There are no hidden charges beyond what’s described up front.
We focus on small, well-curated experiences that prioritize connection and comfort over competition or performance. That means thoughtful locations, clear expectations, and hosts who understand this life stage. The goal is for you and your animals to feel at ease while meeting people who care about many of the same things you do.
