Could you be the ambassador for writing workshops?
An ambassador is the friendly face at the door: there a quarter of an hour early, greeting people by name where they can, making sure nobody stands on their own. It's low-key, and ambassadors get perks along the way, including a discount on Plus membership.

Classes and continuing education with 2nd Summit are built for curious people whose lives are shifting — not for grades, degrees, or resumes. You don’t have to know exactly what you’re looking for, just that you’re ready to explore what’s next.
We curate talks, workshops, and courses — from thoughtful local programs to high-quality online options — that make it easy to dip a toe back into learning. Think unexpected pairings like a conversation on the Ludlow Mining Strike and street fashion, practical skill-building, and space to ask real questions without pressure.
Whether you’re reawakening an old interest, exploring a new field, or simply wanting to keep your mind engaged, these experiences give you a gentle structure, a bit of stretch, and people to share the journey with.
Small-group, discussion-based courses through lifelong learning institutes — great if you enjoy seminar-style classes and curious peers.
Live sessions with engaging speakers and teachers — ideal if you like learning through stories, Q&A, and real-time conversation.
Self-paced courses from platforms like Coursera and MasterClass — a fit if you want flexible, on-your-own-time learning with structure.
Hands-on workshops for phones, apps, and digital tools — perfect if you want to feel more confident with everyday tech.
Practical sessions on money decisions, planning, and tradeoffs — helpful if you want clearer next steps without a sales pitch.
Supportive groups to explore memoir, essays, or fiction — for anyone who wants to put words to experiences and ideas.
Conversational classes and online tools for new or once-familiar languages — great if you love travel, culture, or brain-teasing practice.
When routines change, it’s easy for days to start blurring together. Regular classes and talks create small anchors in your week — a reason to look forward, prepare a bit, and show up curious.
You don’t need a big goal to benefit. Simply engaging with new ideas, hearing different perspectives, and wrestling with questions can bring back a sense of momentum and possibility.
Many people loved the ideas in school but not the tests, deadlines, or competition. Continuing education in this chapter of life can be different — no exams, no grades, just well-framed topics and thoughtful guides.
The focus is on usefulness and enjoyment: practical skills you can actually apply, or subjects that make the world feel richer and more understandable.
It’s often easier to make friends side-by-side, focused on something together, than in open-ended social settings. Classes, workshops, and webinars offer that built-in icebreaker — you already know everyone chose the same topic.
Over time, familiar faces reappear. Conversations before and after a session turn into coffee, book swaps, or project partners. The learning is the starting point; the relationships grow around it.
A short course or one-night talk is a safe way to experiment with new interests — from history and creative writing to tech skills and financial confidence. You can sample many paths without committing to a full program.
That kind of low-stakes exploration can clarify what you want more of in this next chapter, whether that’s a deeper hobby, new volunteer work, or even a different kind of career.
Have an idea of your own?
Something you love that you'd like to share with people — a walk you know, a table you'd set, a thing you'd teach. Tell us and we'll talk it through.
Many people in 2nd Summit’s community are signing up for their first class in a long time. Our focus is on approachable, well-guided experiences, not prior knowledge or credentials. Hosts aim to create rooms where questions are welcome and nobody is expected to be an expert.
It varies. Some experiences are one-time talks or webinars that last an hour or two. Others may be short series that meet weekly for a few weeks. When we list a specific event, we’ll always share the basic schedule so you can see how it fits your life before you commit.
Usually, you just need a notebook or something to take notes on. For online courses or webinars, a reasonably up-to-date computer or tablet and internet access are helpful. If a particular class requires anything extra, we’ll spell that out clearly ahead of time so there are no surprises.
Absolutely. Many people come on their own — it’s one of the easiest ways to meet others who share your interests. Facilitators are mindful about introductions and group activities so you’re not left hovering on the edges.
Costs can range from free community talks and webinars to paid workshops and multi-week courses. When we feature a specific opportunity, we’ll link to the organizer’s details so you can see pricing and what’s included. We look for options that feel like good value for the experience offered.
We look for programs that are thoughtfully designed, welcoming to people in their next chapter, and led by engaged teachers or speakers. That can include local Denver Metro events as well as strong online options. The goal is quality over quantity — offerings that are worth your time and attention.
